WE Ethical: WAN & WONG

Forget about hippy looks in hemp or natural organic. The new eco fashion force is set to inspire the awe out of conventional shoppers. It was a couple of months ago when WE first heard of WAN & WONG - the up and coming eco-fashion label in Hong Kong. After two shows the duo,  Kelvin Wan and Joyce Wong, has finally officially unveiled their debut.

Kelvin Wan and Joyce Wong, freelance fashion designers, decided to establish on their own in 2013 by creating “a long term relationship for the sustainable future”. Wan already hit the runway last year as the winner of EcoChic Design Award, fashion competition organised by Asia’s trendsetting eco-fashion force Redress, which brought him the opportunity to intern at renowned ethical designer Orsola de Castro, founder of the influential FromSomewhere.

According to the designers, WAN & WONG “focuses on the combination of the materials and technique. Each of our design are multi-functional and innovative.” The ethical part lies in their witty use of sustainable materials and pro-recycling fabrics. The path to a full-fledge eco fashion house is long but their potential seems really promising.
