LFW Chronicles: Sass&Bide

Sass&Bide A/W13

Sass&Bide collection was entitled Wintergate, but it actually had the feeling of a gentle summer breeze.  The palette, mainly monochrome in black and ivory white, was brighten up by yellow accents, while silver knits gave an elegant and sleek touch to the whole show.

The collection was largely inspired by the contrast between the mechanical industrial world and the pure beauty of nature, each piece combining structure and fluidity through the savvy use of contrasting materials and shapes. Sensual caged bodices and origami-cut pieces were beautifully matched with more innocent, fluttering fabrics and soft silks.

The show presented highly feminine dresses, enriched with strategic cut-outs, pearls and diamante as well as pieces more suitable for the everyday life. The soft wide-leg trousers, comfortable sweaters and tailored jackets targeted a modern, chic working woman.
